On Oct 25, Global Region 4 hosted an online International Women’s Peace Network Regular Meeting.
The October Regular Meeting was held for IWPG members in East Timor and Burkina Faso to share news about the 10th Anniversary of the September 18 HWPL World Peace Summit held on Sep 18 in Korea as well as the International Women’s Peace Conference on Sep 19. The IWPG documentary on the procedure of the Peace Monument erection in the Philippines drew participants’ attention. Then, the meeting offered a session for the two countries to share plans for the second half of 2024 and the following year.
Josiane Ouedraogo, president of Genit Care Africa, said, “This regular meeting was great and very informative. I think the discussions and practical action plans for the second half of this year and next year will support the advancement of Burkina Faso and peace.”
Sanon Kadidia Aimée, a project manager at the Permanent Secretariat for a nongovernmental organization, shared her thoughts, saying, ”It was my first time attending the meeting. I was impressed by the discussions, and the meeting allowed me to learn much about IWPG’s peace activities. The meeting certainly strengthened the bond among the members.”
Felicidade Vicotria Timora Dos Santos Takeleb, a member of Lautos Si Animators, shared her plan, “In December or next year, I will plan an offline peace activity in East Timor. I am thinking about how to get the people together. I hope to create a program for children so the parents can also participate.”
