Tokyo Branch hosted an International Women’s Peace Network regular meeting on Oct 26 under the theme “Historical facts on the nuclear bombing that must be remembered,” attended by 16 Japanese and Korean members.
Mariko Kozawa, the representative of Tokyo Peace Committee, shared the facts about the nuclear bombing in Hiroshima, accompanied by photos and information after visiting Hiroshima, the first place which suffered the devastation of a nuclear bombing.
She emphasized, “Peace is love, freedom, and helping one another. These are words I heard from a victim of the nuclear bombing, and I think they reflect the spirit of IWPG. Let’s think about how to overcome greed, pride and anger, the opposites of peace, and work together to build a more peaceful world.”
